Service engine soon light

Hey,

I've had my SES light on for a while now... I finally attempted to diagnose it by running a paperclip from A to B. But I'm not sure how exactly I get the code...

The SES light just flashes when I turn the car to on. It doesn't tell me any code or anything...

Re: Service engine soon light

Ok to explain this.... The flashing SES light is the code. There will be code 12 ( SES will blink 1 time pause then blink 2 times quickly). Code 12 will blink 3 times before it will change patterns. Example: code 42 will blink 4 times with the same interval between blinks pause then blink 2 times quickly, It will display the code 3 times for each code. I hope this helps.
***Code 12 is a normal code telling you the computer is working correctly***
