87 T/A idle issues, identifying parts
Im not gettin as much info as i would like on the TPI board so ill try this board since it gets more traffic. I had a huge idle issue, which i corrected due to a bad IAC and a Vaccuum leak. However, after fixing that i still have a small surge of 1-200RPMS at idle, i also have a noticable ticking noise coming from under the plenum, Its a 1987 305 TPI with no mods except a cat back and upgraded intake piping. I have replaced the following, MAF, IAC, IAC connector, Vaccuum Lines. When i unplug the maf the problem still persists.
Another question i have is when i was looking for vaccuum leaks i stumbled across something, in the back of the engine on the firewall there are two brass colored fittings sticking out, nothing is plugged into these lines but i feel like its bart of the HVAC system problem is i know the A/C works and blows cold, not too sure about the heat. Anyone know what these are? they are almost directly behind my distributor.
Thanks,
Chris
