a grand introduction. . .and some questions
a grand introduction. . .and some questions
Greetings all,
I'm new to this forum and to the muscle car scene. I recently acquired an 82 z28 as my next project, and I'm really looking forward to it. My previous projects have both been tuners (91 vr4, 88 civic si), but they just didnt do it for me, and I'm pretty sure muscle cars are the answer. The camaro has some mods which are as follows: Edelbrock 600/performer carb, one-wire HEI (no computer), hurst shifter, dana 44 10-bolt rear axle (4 wheel disc brakes) , 3.92 posi, eibach springs and some sounds. it has also been down/up-graded to a mechanical clutch and steering box. it also has had the EGR and all other emission stuff removed including the kitties. the block is the stock 305.
now onto the questions!
i've thus far only ordered one thing for the car: a dakota digital dash. This is because the speedo was off from the rear axle switch and the stock gauges are jumpy anyway. And digital is awesome
. But there are some other things I want but being new to muscle cars, im not to familiar with which parts/brands are and arent reputable. Im lookin at getting a new hood and i'm really diggin the cervinis cowl hood. i also would like to get a strut tower bar (2 or 3 point ?), but was wondering about clearance issues with the hood and air cleaner. i also do not know who makes good products for f-bodies. Some other things on my wish list are:
grant steering wheel
headers (maybe the hooker 2055s)
full exhaust from the headers back. i dunno who makes quality parts here either. does borla do good with muscle cars?
thats pretty much it in the near future besides a paint job. what do you guys think? i need advice on what to get, especially regarding the hood, tower bar and exhaust. im pretty solid on the headers after alot of research.
Thanks in advance!
Joe

Re: a grand introduction. . .and some questions
welcome to TGO.
now that thats out of the way, this is the product review area. this is were u review products that you have purchased, installed and tested. if you like them or if they are crap, you post it here to help others spend or save money and time.
for your questions browse the forums for that particular area of the car, ie exhaust forum for the header questions, suspension for the strut bar questions ext ext.
