i have a 92 with a 5.7 tpi and it will only "run" when you punp the gas it will not idle and when you hold the throtle part open for a fast idle it still dies. i have replaced; fule pressure reg. throtle possition sencer., map, fule is getting to the reguator . I'm at a loss please whats next? oh and the comp has been replaced.

 

ah, try turning the key to on, not start and listen for the fuel pump priming. does it make noise (brrrr.) next press the schrader valve on the fuel rail, (NOT A/C) does the fuel squirt out like crazy or dribble. next if it aint a fuel problem try checking the ignition coil. these seem to go out a lot during the summer. take the wire off the spark plug #1 drivers side towards the front.put it next to a ground (alternator bracket) and turn over engine, do you see a blue spark? you outta pick up a haynes manual and test the ignition coil, pickup coil, you could get the ignition control module tested at autozone, but youd need thermogrease to reinstal it. if you want to go as far as check the tps again, should be at .555volts top two wire probed, with key turn to on position., if its not the fuel issue its definatly ignition. ignition is a awesome, i love getting shocked with 36,000 volts
