Hi.. I have a '91 Z28 G92/1LE.. The ignition switch, 1 out of 4 times will not rotate to the position where U can remove the key or past that point to the Acc. position.. If I wiggle the barrel around enough in the column, it will finally allow movement to that position & allow removal of the key. My mechanic says it's not the shift lockout cable... The barrel does have a lot of slop in the column...

Can the barrel be changed? Will a new VATS key comre with a new barrel? Is this a common problem on cars this old?...... Thanks .. Ken, Tampa FL
