Need help choosing right comp cam.
I am replacing the camshaft in my 305 carb motor. I have so far put on headers/intake manifold 3701. I have the stock 416 heads and was wondering what kind of performance camshaft i could get that would put me around the 300-400$ range. Edelbrock suggest the 3702 but from what i heard it suks.
My haynes repair manual says my model car has a lobe lift of intake: .238 in, exhuast: .260 in.
Im looking for a camshaft under 200$ since i will have to purchase pushrods/springs/timing chain. I am not the mechanic in my family but my father says the roller rockers sometimes needa be replaced is that true??? Or can i get away with not replacing them?
If anyone can suggest a performance camshaft on summit since its easy to match the springs/pushrods on that site since i dont got much time of research since school starts tommorrow for me. Any help will be very well appreciated.
I have heard about lt1 cams but i dont know what kind of pushrods/springs i would need and i want to make this kind of easy. Along with i dont want to buy a used cam. The lower the price the better.

You can re-use your rockers and probably the pushrods too. Buy some new springs and timing gear set.
Take a look at this Cam set..
