Where's the temperature needle supposed to be?

Engine: LO3 TBI
Transmission: 700R4 => WC T-5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 Open Diff
Where's the temperature needle supposed to be?
So I unstuck the needle from the top of my dashboard and noticed that my temperature only gets up to the first tick between 100 ans 220. Is this normal or is this the behavior of a non stock temp thermostat?
