BBC vs Stock Hood

Just wondering what intake manifolds some of you guys have used on BBC swaps to clear a stock hood? I'm using a flat steel RS hood on my '83 right now.

I don't really want to use the cast iron intake my 454 came with, because its a big heavy boat anchor, and I don't have a spreadbore carb to use on it anyway - only my 4779 Holley. I do have my L88 air cleaner as well, with its nice 2" drop, which is a big help.

The 454 is going to be run just as-is for awhile (Mk IV block, flat top pistons, 781 large oval heads, stock cam/valvetrain, 2226 headers and my MSD stuff from my 350).

Just wondering what other people have successfully fit under a factory hood with a BBC? Edelbrock's Torker-II would fit, as its listed to fit under a stock Corvette hood, but its a POS in the SBC version - is the same true for the BBC version? I've done a search, didn't find anything I was looking for.

They aren't terrible, they aren't great.I can't promise you, because mine had a cowl hood. But I remember thinking that Performer would likely fit under a stock hood with a BB,I had a Weiand Stealth on mine, and without the spacer,It barely stuck up over where the stock hood would have set.
