Using Stock 1979 Heads

Well I am about halfway done with my 350 build and I am realizing i dont have the money to buy new heads. My engine is a 1979 350 and im gonna just use my stock heads for a few months until i can save up to buy some decent heads. I dont want to have any machine work done cause i dont have the money. What can i do to get these heads in decent condition to run for a few months? Can I just bolt them on as is?

You can check into having them milled/resurfaced, most shops will do it for $20 per head. You can use a sheetmetal (also called a shim gasket) headgasket to bump the C/R a bit further. This along with the .060 overbore might give a decent C/R. If they have been out of service for years (and you can get a spring compressor) get some lapping compound and a lap stick and lap the valves so they will seal. This is standard light-rebuild stuff.
None of this should involve as much money as time.
