Car: 84 trans am

Engine: 305 carb

Transmission: 700r4

Axle/Gears: 3.73

idle

My 84 trans am 305 edlebrock carb and performer rpm intake with vaccume advance distributor is idling at 1000rpm and the choke light is flickering with a buzzing noise come from the dash somwhere. What is causing this? step the rpms up to 1200 and it goes away??
