What ever could be wrong?

Engine: workin on a 383 for it!
What ever could be wrong?
ok Ive got this 86 firebird automatic tranny, drove fine all day, then I just puled out of the mc donalys parking lot with the usual, then I go to step on the gas,.................. ok no high acceleration?
seems like it was stuck in first gear? but on my way their it was fine? I mean I was able to get it up to about 75 just took time and if it was gunna shut off I had atleast wanted it to get some where close to home, ok but it had sounded deeper that it was normally in first, and if it was it wasent even close to 2nd gear and one know what could be wrong, all the fluids are good when I had checked them in the morning any one think they might have an idea of what the problem could even be?
