ESC module problem !

ok im getting code 42 wich in the haynes manual states :Electronic Spark Timing - Poor electrical connection, open or short in circuit, defective ESC module or " eletronic spark control module" , or defective ECM , well before this i was getting SES light with codes 15, 33,42 , well i replaced the map sensor and that got rid of code 33 , i also just relaced the coolant temp. sonsor for code 15 " and that went away and for code 42 i installed an igniton control module thinking it was the one the code was calling for but i was wrong , i needed a new ESC module not an ignition control module , so obviously i didnt fix the problem , i just spent 50 dollars on something that didnt need fixing , so now before spending another 50 dollars on a new ESC module , what else could be causing this code and does the circuit run along the two connectors that go to the ignition coil ? i really dont want to spend 50 dollars an an ESC module and then not have the problem fixed , btw im running rich , could this be caused by a weak spark ? , im @ TDC all is stock and i dont think idle speed would affect this , any help would greatly be appreciated

Re: ESC module problem !

Is the ESC wire connected together? It's on pass side, near strut tower - it's what you unplug when setting base timing.
