Crossfire Injection
Crossfire Injection
Hi, I have a 1983 Trans Am with a stock 305 CFI SBC. I am wanting to add some power to the car but obviously like everyone else their budget is low. I havent done much to the car myself. It has aftermarket headers and the engine has been rebuilt from what I can tell. The air cleaner that is on there just looks like it is restricting air to get in but I guess it makes up with the Ram Air. I want to add some more power to the car and start small and work my way up. Where is the best way to start? I dont want to have to do an entire rebuild at once but be able to slowly add to the car and still be able to drive it. What are decent heads to buy for this engine? I have done a general tune up on the car, had to put new valve cover gaskets in, new fuel lines, power steering pump, oil change, fuel filter change, air filter change, rearend oil changed, tranny oil changed, coolant flushed. I just need some new projects for this car. The car before I had this was a 1983 camaro z28 and I really didnt do much to it due to the fact that it needed alot of clean up work and simple replacements here and there, I never got aroun to performance. Any tips on what I should buy(include links if you

Re: Crossfire Injection
i have CFI on my car too-several tweaks can be done to
raise the H.P.well above stock rating
biggest problem
with the stock CFI is the intake manifold runners-they
are fairly small cross section and the runner inlets have
a sharp, rough as cast profile.I extensively reworked and
ported my manifold,added a 1/4"lidspacer,ported the
stock heads, and tweaked the fuel pressure up a bit-
performance increase was dramatic
everything else is stock, though headers and 3"super
single were on the car before the tweaks.
