Accelerator hard to push at first, then loosens

I don't know if this is normal or not, just wondering, but when I start my car from a cold start, the accelerator has a lot of resistance to it, then after the engine warms up it loosens up a lot, it's a little annoying because I drive stick. Has anybody else experienced this?

Not sure if TBI has throttle springs or not, but on carbs i know if the throttle spring is to hard it can make the pedal hard to push. like i said not sure if that applies to TBI but it would be worth the try to swap throttle springs and see if it helps. (if it has a throttle spring not sure if they do).

I would start by disconnecting the cable at the TB end and see if it moves freely. The cables can wear with age and bind up.
Also check that the TB shafts and linkage are free to move

Re: Accelerator hard to push at first, then loosens

Its common on TBI cars

When the TB is 100% closed it creates a semi seal and the vacuum of the engine tries to keep the blade closed. Degumming the sludge with TB cleaner helps but the problem will never go away short of drilling a hole in the butterflies. Then the idle will be funky

No win situation

i think you need to just clean your throttle body, i bet its sticking a little bit too...if it were springs/cable it would be constant...
