Ive always wondered this about cams.
Could an aftermarket cam like mines(ADV. Duration (INT/EXH): 288 / 288
Duration @ .050" (INT/EXH): 214 / 214
Valve Lift (INT/EXH): .443 / .443
Lobe Centerline: 112
Power Range: 1700-5200.)
cam cause a starting problem or hard starting?

That cam installed and tuned correctly should not have a hard time starting.

All the motor basics really same things you would tune on any motor. If its carbed adjust the timing and carb or if fuel injected the ECM reprogrammed to match your current set up. That sort of stuff.
