Need Some Advice hood removal project

Cross posted on GTA forum:

There are some other things I would like to take care of on the firewall. Such as my heater core started leaking. Looks pretty straight forward to r and r, I was thinking about removing the hood to make more room for my body since I don't bend and twist around well anymore. How heavy is the hood, it looks like it would be easy for three people to hold and unbolt. I figure I could run rope around it and suspend it from the garage beams while loosening it, So advice or opinions? Thanks in advance.

Re: Need Some Advice hood removal project

You could take the hood off, but it won't help any.

To change the heater core, it has to be done from inside the car, behind the dash. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/sear...archid=2367718

Some guides will tetll you to pull the dash loose, butt it can be done pretty easily from under the dash. Been there & done that myself.

Yeah the heater core is not that difficult to replace from the inside. The only thing you need to do from under the hood is disconnect the two hoses. All the rest is behind/under the dash.
