Finally figured out the B&M shifter, now I have a question

So I finally figured out how to shift gears with my B&M shifter, all you do is pull it back into gear wihtout lifting the pin :P
My question is, how is this for the transmission? My trans was rebuilt and has about 10,000+ miles on it. I believe it's a 700r4? Not quite sure, just bought the car.
Could shifting gears manually mess up the trans at all? Or should this only be used for racing or something?

Shifting manually is fine, as long as you don't do something stupid like shift down to 1st at 75 MPH.

Re: Finally figured out the B&M shifter, now I have a question

only manual shift when u need to... like a racing application or if u want to downshift down a hill to use the engine to slow the car down. i would just leave it in D while u drive around town etc.

down shifting from 3-2 at like 65-70 will scare the cr@p outa ya... dnt recomend downshifting into first ever really lol.

hahah yeah i witnessed a high mph downshift with my eclipse (last car), yeah, not fun lol
alright thanks for the replies. I was just checking to see if normal shifting would cause any harm to my transmission because, its pretty fun hahah
