changing 2 rods in rebuild

we are rebuilding a 350 I have a new recond. crank what i would like to do is take 2 rods from a 305 and use in my rebuild, can i do that ? also do the rods and pistons that are in good shape have to be put back in the cyl they came out of. because i did mix a couple of them up. Or should i look at some recond. rods.

If the 305 rods weigh the same as the 350 rods, no problem.

like 57 said, you can use them if they are the same weight. If they arent, it will cause balance issues.

The main reason for numbering rods (which you need to get in the habbit of doing) is so that when the machine shop bores the block, they can fit the right piston to the right hole. Also used to make sure the piston/rod/front of engine orientation is correct.
