Can't say I have any experience with it, but looks like a lot of duration for the lift. 1.6:1 rockers would help a little, but camel humps probably don't benefit much from more lift.

Why a gear drive?

Re: any one run the Elgin E-922-P

well i actally pulled apart another 010 motor to build a 383 but thats going to take a bit of time since me and my wife just had out first baby on the 18th so i got this motor just to put in there to run untill i get my rods and pistons. i have the crank fly wheel and blancer and the block is ready.

i have that cam just sitting here and might aswell use it. and the gear drive i got for my jeep but i never installed it so might as well use it.
i was told the cam is more of a rv pulling or gas friendly cam for the 350.

my plans are just to use my holley 650 dp carb i have the headderman headders and y pipe for my cal already a edelbrock performer intake and run it untill i finish my motor.

Congrats on the new addition to the family. First? Your life will never be the same (and that's a good thing).

My mistake, I only looked at the advertised duration, not the 0.050" duration. It isn't all that wild. Should be fine. Performer intake as well.

I'd still put a double roller timing set on it, though. If the gear set is unused, now is the best time to sell it and get more performance for your $'s (when the denominator gets smaller, the quotient gets bigger).

(For the record, it's "Hedman" and "hedders" {Hedman only - everyone else has "headers" }.)

Re: any one run the Elgin E-922-P

thanks it amazing an how life changes so fast

i installed the gear drive today i figured that i would use it since i already got it out, and it saves me buying a chain i changed the cam and lubed every thing tomarrow i have to get all the gaskets

but i found out that the motor has been gone though and it has .30 over trw forged pistons and the old school pink rods and a forged crank so it was a good buy for 100$ and everything was clean and the pan was clean and no smell of burnt oil..

i am going to paint everything flat black so it looks like the old l69 305
i hope to get it in the car this weekend

Re: any one run the Elgin E-922-P

i am currently running this cam and it is actually a nice pic the computer needs a little tune other than that i have an 89 firebird with a 94 k2500 crate motor this cam and a 373 and this thing moves the cam has a slight choppy idle it will missfire up to about 1300 rpm then it cleans up and launches the only issue i have like i said the computer adjusts out the cam
and i get a knock sensor code when i let idle for a min ;-)
