Mounting Ignition Coil with TPI Accel Manifold
I installed the Accel intake manifold. However, the location for the coil mounting bracket is different and it will not mount properly using the intake manifold bolts. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, were you able to resolved it without fabricating something new?
Thanks!

Re: Mounting Ignition Coil with TPI Accel Manifold
I'm running the Edelbrock Hi-Flow manifold and I had the same issue during installation.
The coil bracket doesn't fit onto the two rear manifold bolts because of the rear exhaust passage (Corvettes use this passage). Your stock manifold doesn't have this passage.
You'll also find that the EGR solenoid bracket (sandwiched between the coil bracket and coil) won't clear the manifold and distributor hold down bolt if you try to fasten the ERG solenoid using both coil mounting screws.
First, you'll need to cut out the center portion of the coil bracket to clear the passage. Cut and grind until it fits over the exhaust passage and lines up with the manifold bolts.
Second, sandwich the EGR solenoid bracket between the the coil mounting bracket and the coil at the front coil mounting screw hole. This allows you to pivot the EGR solenoid to clear the manifold and distributor hold down bolt.
Edit: Here's a pic:

Doing this pita job right now. The accel base also does NOT have the holes to hold the gaskets. Wish I had saved my money now.
