Testing MCS wiring

I've got an '84 Berlinetta with a 2.8L V6. Since I bought it, it's been shooting a trouble code 54, which is for the Mixture Control Solenoid. I've replaced the MCS now and I'm still getting the code, even after the ECM has been reset.

Is there any way to test the circuit/wiring to check that it's operating properly?
