Massive Loss of Oil, any suggestions on where to look first

Massive Loss of Oil, any suggestions on where to look first

I am losing oil like crazy, 3 months ago was my last oil change i changed it a few days ago and only bout 2 1/2 quarts came out, where could i be losing oil, there is no puddles in my garage and no smoke out the pipes

did you check your coolant? if its still green, then i'd say check the plugs to see if your'e burning it off.

my radiator is slowly going up, i just bought a new one today, are you saying that could be part of the problem?

No, hes saying check your coolant to see if there are any indications of oil in the antifreeze. If not, and there isn't oil anywhere externally, then its losing oil internally. Either through bad rings or bad valve seals, or a few other things. Pull your plugs and check to see if they look like they've been burning oil.

How many miles in that 3 mos? If it was more than 1500 or so, it's not that bad. A quart every 1K or so it considered "normal" by most manufacturers.
