ok next question? my car starts right away when its warm out and after I started it up in the mornign, it will start first try right away all day. But if I let if sit overnight and its a cold night, When i go to start it in the morning it will start up and die that second if i try again it keeps doing the same thing UNLESS i gently press the gas as i start it. if i do that BOOM she starts right up just as normal! Most of the time it does not do this it takes a very cold night to make it happen. Anyone have any ideas? I am thinking it may be the fuel pressure reg is just getting old cuz if i set my foot on the gas as i start her boom she starts.

It would be easier to diagnose this problem if you would tell us what kind of car you have, engine type, trans, etc.

 

HAhaha yeah great point sorry lol its a 90 formula with a 305 TBI and a 700R4 Tranny

 

I'd check the IAC. I've had mine stick shut before from carbon/sludge buildup. Pull it and clean it up with some WD-40/electronics cleaner/brake clean/whatever you have around.

 

it should be fine i will try cleaning it tomarrow but it is i think about 5 months old i replaced it not long ago

 

last night pulled the IAC at like 3am lol and cleaned it it was a lil dirty but not to bad put it back on and this morning it was very very cold and did the same thing still started then stoped first try second try started with out me pushing the gas tho. any other ideas on what to check maybe? thanx
