Bad Crankshaft?
Anyone know of a crankshaft going bad? My baby is in the shop for tapping but now it's gotten down to possible bad crankshaft. I haven't seen anything in the threads like this. SHe's a 1989 RS v6 2.8 with 122,000 miles. I've had it for 17 years now....

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
Tapping is usually valve train, either lifters, rockers, adjustment, etc.
Knocking is often bearings, which can take out the crank when they go bad.
When a crankshaft "goes bad", it usually means it has broken in two.

Re: Bad Crankshaft?
Thanks for the info. I'll have more questions for the mechanic when I call tomorrow. Any additional info is greatly appreciated...
