Ok so my 87 iroc wont start. The car when i got it was converted to carb and i got rid of all the nonesense wires and ran fine but the 305 had a rod knock. So i had a gm performance parts 350 crate motor that was complete, i took it apart but left the bottom end alone and took the cam out. I replaced the head gaskets, cleaned the heads and but them on. I then lubed up the cam and installed it and made sure the 2 dots lined up with each other, on the cam gear and the crank gear and installed timing cover. I also was told you have to mark the lifters in order and pushrods and rocker arms when you reinstall them but i didnt. I used the lifters,pushrods, and rocker arms from 305 and put it in the 350 in correct order. So everything is back, i adjusted the rocker arms as it said in the repair manual for a 82-92 camaro book. I got spark but no fuel because my mechanical pump is bad but i pour a little gas in the carb and she still doesn fire up. Distributer is set right, i even did it 180 out and nothing. I mixed the wires up on cap for difference and nothing still. Its just dead cranking. So i took all the wires off, pulled the distributer and set the motor to tdc. I put the dist. back in and made sure it was pointing to the number 1 cylinder, put cap back on, did the firing order correctly and nothing still. Idk what it is. Please help????? Both motors were hydraulic flat tappet
