E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
After seeing all the tests and reading all the specs I got a set of E3 plugs to put on my 1992 305 TBI that already has a K&N and a 2 1/2" cat back with 3" tips. Let me tell you all the tests were right and they make a BIG difference. 70-100 mph in a blink and flat out boils the tires at low end, real "seat of the pants" difference! I would estimate a good 10% increase in HP and better mpg and emissions to boot. If they work this well in my low HP motor, imagine what they can do for a motor with decent HP to start. Try them, they are worth the extra bucks.

How old/worn/dirty/bad were the plugs you took out though? Standard plugs may have given you the same increase, as the E3s.

I was thinking about getting some for my V6, but this is what will probably make me go get them for sure, are they really that amazing?

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
wow $50 almost worth of 8 spark plugs, lol?
Any dynos? just like to know whats making the difference. I have msd dist cap, msd coil, msd wires, plat spark plugs, ac delco i think, k&n filter, spacer, and cat back, but i don't notice to much difference, lol.
like to know if these spark plugs would really make a couple hp difference, if so i'd consider i just dont want waste money on spark plugs if i dont see numbers or something.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
Yeah I remember putting a set of splitfires in an old Buick I bought. They made a big difference over the worn out plugs that came with the car. After about 8-10 thousand miles the car became hard to start and was using a lot of gas. They worked okay as fishing weights after that.
But if you want to get your car in a magazine an air gap manifold,E3 plugs,Fitch catalyst and Royal Purple oil might make the difference.

Its probably about time for new spark plugs for me so thats why I'm excited about these, I'm going to spend more than a buck or so on a spark plug the next time around though...

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
Hot rod or some magazine wrote about the E3's recently and if I remember right, the "professional" they interviewed didn't sound like he thought they were anything special. They are compasitive? dischage were they store energy then release it once its "saved up" if I remember right, and his point was if your engine is tuned and running well, you should be burning all the gas thats in the cylinder during that cumbstion cycle anyway, so if there isn't more gas to burn with the hotter spark, they really shouldn't make a difference. but if for somereasion your cobustion isn't efficent and there is fuel thats not being burned they they could make a difference, but a new set of plugs and proper timing/what not will too.

Yeah just saw the videos on their site, supposively a +5~8hp +6~10tq and all around better emissions, about 20 pts everywhere or more.. i'm curious on the life expectancy and how you gap them, they have 3 prongs connected..

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
E3's work great in my lawn mower but everything else there ok just not great. I do have a spark tester that checks how well a spark plug fire's under pressure. The E3's do great on the test better then OE plugs but Ive never seen a real life gain in anything other then my mower. I put a set in a test car my old 94 Impreza. The car had a K&N filter, new wires, new fuel filter and all fluid change about 1k before the e3's went in. After the e3's went in no change in fuel economy or power at all. I felt like my money was wasted there. I also had them in my 83 FXDG. The shovel was a little gassey when cold but would clean up after a few min. The e3's would not work in this engine. It would take 20 min for them to clean up if i was lucky and I had a modern ignition system on the bike with dual coils.

If you want the best, put in a set of NGK / Delco Iridium plugs. Don't play around with gimmicks.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
I have had this car for 12 years and have had many different sets of plugs in my car, Splitfire, Bosch Platinum, Ac-Delco's, NGK's etc. The Splitfires sucked, waste of money, and none of the others made any difference in the power, just ran the same really. I own no stock in E3 (LOL) and am just giving my honest opinion from someone that knows how their car runs from MANY years of driving it, and can say without a doubt, these plugs made a BIG difference. No, I didn't dyno my car, but the test mule 350 on HP TV showed a 9% increase in HP and 12 ftlbs of TQ, with no change whatsoever besides the plugs. I am sure this can be argued to death, and most people have their fav plugs already, but I know what it did for mine and am QUITE happy with the few buck extra they cost. Now, I just have to quit "testing" the plugs so I can get the better mileage....LOL

Oh no....They NEVER leave out any difference. Not when it comes to show advertisers, sponsors, or product donaters.....

I'd love to buy a set & hit the local dyno. "Basic: Setup & Initial Run $54.00...each add. run is $15.00 per pass in the same session" I'm just not willing to spend the $$$ on spark plug testing.

And we all KNOW just how 110% honest that TV shows are. They NEVER leave out any details, such as timing adjustment, valve lash adjustment, rejetting of carbs, 40 degree air vs 90 degree air, etc. Nor would they mention how bad the original plugs were. New AC Delcos might have given them the same results.

It's easy to skew results when you control the information, I've watched Powerblock for a LONG time and seen them endorse a lot of junk. Even today they were "tricking" the MAP sensor on the blue cherokee.

They have an ad for Accel plugs on their main site right now, they must be the new sponsor. I bet you'll see the guys use Accel plugs and coils on a few projects in upcoming episodes.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
The plugs that came out were AC-Delco with maybe 15K on them, so no, they were not junked up plugs to start with. Dyno's are great for people with easy access to one and money to burn, but I always go by what I can see, hear or feel. Anyone they won't put up the extra bucks for the E3's will just never know if they are worth a crap or not. I saw the tests, but not believing every thing I read, wanted to know for myself, and now I know.....and am glad I did it. For all you doubters/haters, and narrow minded people, keep using your same old plugs. If any new products didn't work like you guys say, we would all still be driving Model T's I guess....LOL

Well I am certainly going to try the E3's on my lawn tractor this summer. I wonder how many of the competitors in the Engine Masters use E3's? A 9% difference would take one of the bottom engines and put it in first.

Sorry, I don't need facts as I am not selling the product. All I was doing was telling of my own experience in case anyone else had wondered about the E3's. Take it for what you want, I really don't care. I love them and that's all that matters to me.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
I also run E3s in my 305 tpi. I can tell a definite improvement over stock plugs, especially at higher rpms. I swapped them out in place of AC Delco rapidfires. I replaced the plugs right after I bought the car just because I didn't know how old the plugs were but later found reciepts indicating that they were less than a year old. They looked new. I replaced ONLY the plugs first just to see if I could tell a difference and I am definately a believer. I probably won't use anything else in the future. I plan to put them in my jeep soon and throw away the POS NGKs that are burnt after 30K. I don't work for the company or any TV show or magazine. I'm can only speak from my experience.

It's funny you post that quote, as it seems YOU don't need or want facts. The facts I spoke of are any BS TV show and/or advertisements that no one believes anyway, which is fine. But, when I have ACTUALLY tried the plugs and know the FACTS because I did my own comparison, not just talk BS. So, when someone comes in here with ACTUAL REAL WORLD FACTS, you could care less and only want to down their statements, so why bother telling you about all the tests, etc. Also, see above where someone else actually TRIED the product and guess what......they loved it!! Hiflyer, thanks for your comments, glad to see someone else is getting the benefit of these new plugs as I am. They are awesome, especially at high revs like you were saying. ALL I changed was the plugs, and it was running great beforehand too, just wanted to see for myself and am damn glad I did.

Are they even the same heat range? Same plug design (resistor, booster..to name a few)
This all sounds like a big bag of BS to me.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
So let me get this straight. People are complaining about E3 plugs being a waste of money because they cost a dollar or two more per plug but then demand dyno results to back up positive reviews of the product? Sorry guys but this seems bass akwards. I'm willing to take a risk by paying a few more dollars to satisfy my own curiousity about these spark plugs but I'm not willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a dyno test to save you $8 on your next tune up. If any of you are gambling men I reccomend taking a chance on a set of these (can't back that up with dyno results). I think you'll like them.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
I also questioned these claims so I bought a set and it turns out I like them. I'd love to see dyno results if someone feels strongly enough to shell out the cash but as for now all I can do is give E3 a positive review based on my experience. If anyone else is curious enough to swap a set in please post your results!

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
Well, you dont have any emissions test results, you dont have any fuel mileage results, and you have a SOTP opinion. I can take facts fine, but when it comes to any of these gimmick spark plugs the facts go right out the window. So... dont go assuming you know what I want or need. I just know what the end result is going to be, same as usual.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
Never tried them, dont need to. Not for proof for myself they dont work, and not to have an opinion about them either. There have been various iterations over the years from the 'mild' NGK V-groove, Denso U-groove, and AC Rapidfire to the Splitfire, Pulstar, Bosch+4, and now this E3 that in the end have all just gone away without so much as a blip on the screen as far as OE's and race teams using them. Dont you think the OE would JUMP at the chance for a plug that would add power, but more importantly increase fuel mileage (CAFE ratings anyone?) and lower emissions (EPA regs)? Of course they would. The only things the OE have been doing is going to plugs with different materials to extend service intervals, at an additional cost I might add.
These ideas are not new, either. They were doing this type of thing, IIRC, as far back as the 1930's. All these years, and so far the 'typical' spark plug is still the plug of choice for those who would be using something different if it worked better. They're not. I'll save my money, thank you very much. You want to spend extra cash on an experiment? Go right ahead, I will not stop you. Its just not a very wise idea if you ask me, and there are volumes of backup for not buying them.

Ok, here is my last post on this subject. I originally started this thread to let others know that MY OPINION of these plugs were positive and to let others know it was worth a few extra bucks for them to try based on what they did for my car. I have had this car for 12 years as I said, know EXACTLY how the car should run and NO, nothing at all was wrong with the car, I just wanted to try them. But, instead of maybe a few questions or others experiences with the E3's (beside Hiflyer) all I got was BS and almost being called a liar or a dumbass. I find this quite disappointing, especially since most of it was from a senior member, whose opinions on this subject are only his own and based on NOTHING, unlike mine and Hiflyers who have actually tried them and had the SAME results. So much for trying to help people as a good member of TGO should. (ps, quess I had a missing plug wire in my sig pic, maybe that's why there is so much smoke coming from my poor ol 305...LOL 'Nuff said)

I am only offering you a fact, electricity,in other words,"spark",will find the path of least resistance.it cannot "fork",or spread.
I have not tried the E3s,and with the warranty, they might be worth putting in a dd that has a reasonable amount of use left in it.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
without numbers such as fuel mileage, tail pipe emissions, and how long they actually last, there really isn't much to go on.
i know people who bought a tornado and say it made a difference in performance and fuel mileage. but they have no numbers to back it up.
saying that by SOP, it feels like picked up a good tenth of a second isn't a very good reference and amounts to little.
where i work at, we've put in a few sets of E-3s and others for some of our customers.
we've pulled out more sets of "best plugs in the world" than we have put in and have repaired numerous driveablity problems with a set of plain old everyday spark plugs.
i am waiting for something to come with a set of Pulstars in it.
unless specified by the customer, when we replace a set of spark plugs, we use what the factory calls for.
we do that for a reason, dependability and long life for the customer.
Max, you left out a couple of the more popular great spark plugs, Nology and Firestorm.
and lets not forget about,
http://www.chinasparkplugs.com/
i bet those are some great spark plugs.
now, i think these spark plugs will really save some gasoline,

probably the only spark plugs in the world that actually does whats they claim.

I say if you want to try them go for it. At least two of us have had success with these spark plugs. It's worth noting that most of the negative comments were mere assumptions that came from people who have never tried the product. I wouldn't let that scare you off. Good luck.
Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
You would proabably see similar results from "tuning" regular plugs. There can be quite a lot to be gained by changing heat range, gap and even indexini ni the case of our less than refined chamber designs.
The reason they seem to work so well in lawnmowers and other 2 stroke apps is likely related to the **** poor chamber designs of those motors, put in something like a modern 4V pent roof chamber or even a vortec headsd ABC or LSX motor and the results will likely be nil.
ShownGo, you can certainly claim to feel a difference but you also said there was a difference in MPG and emmissions, are toose also SOTP facts?
Then you said "now I need to stop testing them so I can see the PMG difference" indiucating you dont even have the first hand experience in that respect yet you still made the claim in the first post.
What experience do you have at all that there is any improvement at all in either mpg or emissions?
I'm willing to accept that after owning a car for so long you can feel a difference but your credability has gone completely out the door because you demended that everyone believe every facet of your wild claims.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs Kick A**!!
LSsix, although not worded properly it seems, in my original post I was only talking about the tests showing better mileage and emissions, not me. For myself I was speaking of the extra power it gave me. I have a daily driver, so could honestly care less about getting better mpg or emissions on my Bird, but was only mentioning them per the tests I had seen. Not the plugs I took out, but the set before that had been indexed (properly w/washers) and it did not make much of a difference. Again, all I am saying about the E3 plugs is they did a kick a$$ job for me and my Bird, and just wanted to share that in case anyone else had thought about trying them. And, sorry about my earlier comment and I appreciate everyone's input.

Time for an update. Those designer plugs should have a few K on them by now.
I wonder if they are as good as these were:

40 years before Bosch tried to fool us again, someone else came and went (1955). I guess we're about due for another Barnum Engineering product.
