Help needed in selecting parts for 350 build.
Here she is. As you can see it is a convertible. I have restored all including top half of motor. Runs good, but I have at the machine shop a non roller 350 block out of a police van 1992 I believe. Since it is a convertible, I don't want to go nuts. I take the family for Ice Cream on Saturday nights with her. I would like 300HP perhaps. I want my power to be low-end. I never drive over 70MPH so I would love to go really fast 0-60MPH where I can enjoy the power. I am looking at the summit rebuild kit. T-5 pistons, etc.. not high-end but I think they will work. Time for me to pick a cam so machine shop can get the block ready. I will work my way up to higher tbi specs over time, but now need help with head, intake, and cam especially. Remember low-end power, but alot of it is needed. Should I use the 350 factory tbi intake? what cam selection and why first. I have to order this within the next couple of days.
thanks

Re: Help needed in selecting parts for 350 build.
I was rebuilding an old 350 for my camaro, something to get me by till i get my LS1 completed but this is what i got for my 350, comes with intake, heads, cam, gaskets. etc.. http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/...oductId=760264 i am not sure if this is what your looking for, but it performes nicely with a 750 edelbrock performer carb. this one is a lil more expencive but lowerish horse power and around 400 lbs of torque http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/...oductId=760264
as far as your options for induction, i would honestly keep your EFI.
on another note, since your engine is pre 96 i belive there is not going to be a any vortec style heads, and the kit i recieved had vortec style heads. so you wont be able to use your manifold. but being a throttle body im sure you could just remove it and slap it on the kits intake manifold. just a thought, i could be wrong.
hope this helps a little bit.
