so today me and my friend raced after work.
his subaru wrx and my 89 gta
i got him from the get go and we were pretty close until we reached speeds around 80 or so and then his car kept increasing in speed and i felt like my car was stuck in 80-90

what the heck is wrong..is it the factory settings of the car or what?

 

a wrx has a turbo doesn't it? that'd be why

 

yeah well it has a turbo but i still had that car beat the whole way until we reached really high speeds it felt like my car was kinda stuck between 80-90 and even when im not racing and im just driving on the freeway it feel like its hard for this car to get to 100 an up idk what it is..my v6 nissan maxima can get over 100 no problem

 

what mods have you done to the powertrain?

 

upgrade your intake. stock tpi is only good up to about 4500rpm

 

i havent done anything to the car really.. just exhaust, and kn filter. mods that everybody has
but after losing to my friend im really gonna start doing some major work so this never happens again lol..

 

okay i was reading something on here and it said that if you slam the gas and keep it kicked down your car wont go into overdrive that you would have to let it go so it can shift and then step on it again..
but there some called the Over drive kickdown valve
and i guess it help the transmission go straight into overdrive
anyone familiar with this???
