First Camaro and V8
Hello guys. I am a long time import tuner converted to an 85 Camaro z28 with a 350/700r4 that i got a good deal on. It had the 305 originally, the swap seems to be done right. The car runs, and drives fine, so no issues there. Here is my set-up.
Edelbrock Intake and Air Filter Housing
Holley 1850 (600cfm)
Accel Distributor
MSD Ignition Module
COMP Cams 'Thumpr' Cam
B&M Shift Kit in Tranny
Fiberglass Cowl Hood (should i make vents?)
and then i was told that it has Edelbrock Heads, but havent confirmed that yet.
Now here are my not-so-greats,
Stock Exhaust w/ gutted stock cat
Stock Rear End (3.27 i believe) Non-Posi
Now my real question, what could i do to get that extra UMPH!?
Im thinking... ensure Carb is in Proper working order and tuned, then replace everything from the headers back, since my headers look OK. Maybe something im forgetting? Any and all help appreciated, Thank you.

Welcome Home!!
Do you know what heads? What Thumpr cam grind? Stock motor? Is the cowl open?
I wonder if the carb is kinda small for a Thumpr??

I dont know which heads yet, and i do know it makes a big difference. Ill look into it. The Thumpr is a 291 duration, which is the middle one of the three they offer. I believe the motor internals are mostly stock since PO didnt say much about internals. Finally, the cowl hood has no vents or louvers(<spelling), it is all sealed up, only air escape is out the back of the cowl obviously. Im debating putting a small vent on either side of the cowl, mid-way up on the hood. I do mean on the sides of the cowl too, that 3 inch area where it is 45 degrees.

Re: First Camaro and V8
if the stall converter doesn't match the cam it will be sluggish.
