vortec heads beehive springs?

I am currently in the process of doing an l31 vortec swap and the one problem i'm having building this motor is the valve springs. Ive heard u can use comp cams 918 beehive springs but they are extremely pricey so has anyone ever used these gm beehive springs? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-12499224/ They are substantially cheaper and i would rather buy them then the comp cam ones

Re: vortec heads beehive springs?

Those are for a LS series engine, so I'd question if they would fit SBC Gen 1 heads.

Re: vortec heads beehive springs?

I used the 918 springs on my vortec heads so i can't answer about the summit brand ones. I would imagine them being pretty good. Just remember you need keepers and retainers with those springs also.
