Re: PICKUP COIL REMOVAL HELP!

There's a pin at the bottom of the shaft that you can press out. Pressing it out removes the drive gear allowing you to pull the whole shaft out of the housing. Once that's done, the pu coil is a breeze to remove.

Re: PICKUP COIL REMOVAL HELP!

i got the distributor apart and replaced the pickup coil and now i have no spark. i checked the resistance of the pickup before and it was ok and now the coil is open according to the multimeter. i have a new pickup that i am going to install tomorrow. what can cause the coil to to short out without ever being used?
