Spark and pickup coil question

My car won't start. It cranks over fine but there is no spark coming from the plugs. I have already replaced things like sparkplugs, cables, rotor, cap, ignition module and coil but still nothing. I've been reading here about spark problems and seen pickup coil beeing brought up. Can this be the problem? Also, does my car even have a pickup coil? How can I tell when I'm not sure what it is? A picture would be great. Not of just the coil but the distributor as well.

My car is an '89 GTA with the LB9 engine (305 TPI).

Re: Spark and pickup coil question

I had a problem with my car only starting once in a while and it would miss last year, I replaced my pickup coil and it ran perfectly afterwards. I know it wasnt too expensive. From what I know if you look under the rotor, and there are not the springs and weights in there, and you should have the HEI type set up? The pick up coil is connected to the ignition module (which may need to be replaced as well) and it is under everything. I would post pics if I had any. I only have my old pickup coil
for pics.

Re: Spark and pickup coil question

the easiest way to replace the pickup coil is to drop in a whole distributor. all of these cars have them stock. it has the same function as a cam sensor.
