ok guys heres one for you. i just got my 355 engine buttoned up and put my tranny in. the problem is that i can shift threw every gear and the car wont move
. i can reeve it up to 4000 rpm and nothing. whats wrong with it? i adjusted the tv cable, and no help. the trannys been rebuilt, shift kit, 7 vane to a 20 vane, new input sprag assembly, and new sun shell case. i also put a 3000 stall convertor. any ideas? Supreme Member

Re: what now
Not enough fluid in it yet - you need to add tranny fluid, run though the gears, add fluid, run through, etc, etc, etc - thr process takes about 12+ qts of fluid and about 3-4 hours. When it does start to move, then drive like 100 ft using each foward gear in the 100 ft, then use reverse for a few feet, and recheck/add fluid, and keep working it in there until the fluid level is full.

Re: what now
there is 100 things that could cause that. if line pressure is good then something must be wrong with the drive cutches assuming the tc bolts are in.

i ran it threw the gears numerous times, and thefluid is still reading full. i put a 10 inch convertor in and theres maybe a 3/4 inch gap to the flywheel with it all the way back. do i need to shim it so that itll reach the flywheel with it in the rear position?
