leaking coolant from back of head.

hi i just put in a 350 that i rebuilt and it runs great and everything but once i put coolant in it a can see it dripping off the starter and it looks like it is coming out by the back of the head maybe between the head and block. anyone know why this could be happening. i torqued the head in the right seqence.

Did you put the fan switch in the cylinder head ???? It is right below the header flange between the 4 and 6 cylinder or 6 and 8 cylinder.

Re: leaking coolant from back of head.

yeah. it is right arond that area wheres its leaking though but definatly not the sensor. also i left the key on for a min and the fuel pump must of pumped way to much gas in the intake and it became hydrolocked with fuel and not knowing what it can do i tried to start it and it stopped cranking 2 or 3 times before it started but it still runs fine. do you think i got lucky and didnt damage any of the internal parts? and could this of blew out my head gasket?

Re: leaking coolant from back of head.

Well, my question is, is the head good, like not cracked? Did you use thread sealant on all of the bolts, and the plug in the side of the head? Is the intake manifold the one that's doing the leaking, and its just running down the back of the block and off the starter? Just some thoughts to consider.

its not the intake for sure. the book i was using said to just dip them in oil for the bolts and the sensor i used thread sealant.
