Car: 1987 Trans am
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: GM 10 bolt
need heater help

have an 87 TA 305 TPI. One day heater works fine, next day fan blows normal just air stays cool. Engine sounds fine,temp. stays in normal range.
Any ideas?

sounds like a heater diverter valve . ck. the vacuum lines going to it . it could also be the valve it self . easy to change , cheap , ready available , G.M. used the same ones on many models/years . good luck .

any coolant smell in the cabin? syrup? wet floor on passenger side(heater core) if no, make sure about diverter, and also look behind the heater/ac box in dash for loose broken or disconnected vac lines
