Distributor questions for 91 TPI
I'm trying to nail down the source of my annoying engine stumble throughout the lower RPM range. I don't think it's fuel or sensor related, and I'm guessing its spark.
I've pulled the distributor, but I'm confused as to what is what. My Haynes manual isn't helping a whole lot here. It is an external coil model, and I have already replaced the cap and rotor.
I'm wondering what I should be testing/replacing now that I have the distributor out? There is a large black electronic component with two external connectors, I believe one goes to the coil and one to the ECM. Then there is a two wire connector that goes into the distributor body. What is this component? Ignition module? Where do these wires go into the distributor? The connector just fell apart while I removed it, and the wires are a mess.
Anything else I should be checking while I have it pulled?
Thanks

How about something like this? Seems like it would solve my problem, replacing all the individual parts like the module and pickup coil would cost more anyhow.
