were does this vacuum line go?

I tired and tried, but simply cannot remember were it goes to. I can not find the other end or a broken line attached to anything under the hood, all I have is this one in the front of the tbi hanging out sucking air. I attached a pic, and the line in question is on the front of the tbi, on the drivers side, one of the thin plastic ones.

I believe that goes under the air breather cover.

Re: were does this vacuum line go?

Forgive me if this is completely wrong as it has been a while since I've been under the hood of a stock TBI motor, but I believe there is a vacuum motor in the air filter cover that allows hot air off the exhaust manifolds to enter the motor. I think it goes there.

That vacuum line should be running to the vapor canister which is usually located up in the corner driverside part of the engine bay. Look for a tall black cylinder type container. It stores and purges off fuel vapors from the fuel tank.

Re: were does this vacuum line go?

Jmberry is correct, it runs to the canister. It actually pulls alot of vacum so a worm clamp is a good thing to have on it.

Re: were does this vacuum line go?

Built91Z28 was correct. That line goes to the vacuum valve on the air cleaner which is not in the picture. The line that goes to the vapor canister is the one that connects to the throttle body right below where the PCV hose connects. That is pictured as being there in your pic. If you have open element or don't need the warm air you can just cap it off ( except in Cal. for smog )
