So let me start from the beginning me and a friend of mine recently replaced the crank and barrings on my 350 block. The problem was solved it was working for about a month. After the first coled front came in this past winter I did not start my car for like a few weeks. When i whent to start it I could not get it to turn over so I had the starter tested and it failed. I then replaced the starter and also the alternator,distributor cap,spark plugs and it fired up nice and strong. The battery was low so i let it run for a little then test drove and it died with in 4 min i jumped started and got it back home next day I charged the battery turned the key and nothing happend no spark,no starter engageing just dead with a slight quiet buzz noise coming from the ignition or some where sounds like though I dont know if some body could help I would appreciate it thank you.

 

If you have a volt meter put it on the battery and see what you get. Does anything else work while you are trying to start it?

it doesn't matter that your accessories work... the starter needs more juice to function... your battery may be due for a replacement.. how long ago did you replace your battery... generally 3-5 years it's time for a new one... try jump starting it and see if it turns over.. if it does.. charge your battery and then take it to an auto parts store where they will perform a series of test to determine whether it's time for a new one...

 

The last time I tried to jump it the ignition does the same thing nothing happens just did no spark or current going on

 

You definitely need to check out the battery. I would also check all high current connections for corrosion. If the battery is not the culprit you need to see where the lack of power to the car is. The best way is with a volt meter.

 

Ok I double checked all the wiring and it turned out to be the fusible link was not all the way pushed in which explaine why there was no engagement at the starter.
But the engine still wont turn over, we are trying to adjust the timing because it was off. When I try to start the engine it was like hissing out the carberator I dont know think its the timing any advice hit me back oh and also I cant here my fuel pump turning on when i turn the key
