Cam swap Question
So I wiped out the cam in my Z. Gonna go back with a mild street cam I have Comp 1.52 roller rockers, the pushrods are 7 3/4" long, and I know the cam and lifters are comp pieces too just not sure the specs yet, haven't pulled the cam. The car has headers and a 600 cfm holley carb, 3.42 gears and a 700r4. Any recomendations, on cam choice? And can the cam be swapped without pulling the motor? I was looking at a comp cams, CL12-210-2 cam and lifter package, but if there is something I can doo to make a little more grunt and not have to change everything else that'd be cool too!.
BTW the motor is a 350 from a 90 C1500, with 193 heads, from what I hear the heads aren't the greatest but I'm gonna work with what I've got.

Re: Cam swap Question
Not sure on a good cam choice but yes the cam can come out with the motor in the car. The radiator/fan and the condensor will have to come out. If I remember right, the last cam swap I did on mine I had to unbolt the part where the hood latches on to. Not the latch itself, but the hole piece that goes down to the radiator tray. The cam was just hitting it enough to not come out.

Thanks for the info. I guess if I had to pull the motor it wouldn't be too bad then I could paint the whole engine bay but I'd rather not go through all that.

cam choice looks good but rember you will have to add ZDP additive every oil change of you will be doing another cam swap.

Re: Cam swap Question
Thanks for the info everyone. I've got the car mostly torn down now, keep getting sidetracked painting things like Valvecovers, intake manifold, next the brake booster, and mastercyl, then inner fenders, and firewall.
