Vapor canister stealing vacuum?
Hi there..
I test drive my car yesterday from the big rebuild that I have done this winter. I have rebuild my 1987 305 TPI engine and done a complete rebuild on my 700R4. I have deleted the air-pump and the EGR system and burned a new chip that is working with this setup. The car starts and runs fine.
The only problem is the idle RPM is a little bad. I plugged the hose that goes to the fuel vapor canister and then the idle is just beautiful.
As soon as I open the hose again the idle screws up.
I had originally a Lg4 engine. with the quadrajet setup on the fuel vapor canister. Is there any differences on the TPI fuel vapor canister?
Something with the purge solenoid on top of it mayby?..I have the purge solenoid seperate from the canister itself. Anyone who had this trouble before??
