MISS PROBLEM

This problem has been haunting me for awhile now so thanks for any help! My camaro misses only at idle, it drives perfect through all rpms but idle and the miss in intermittent....what i mean is it will idle fine for a couple sec and then stumble down then run fin a couple more sec. I have replaced ALL sensors like a dummy except the pickup coil and knock sensor, the pickup coil ohm good. I also replaced the ecm, injectors, egr, full tune up and all gaskets in hopes but it still haunts me. I don't have a scanner to see anything and im out of ideas so if you have ANY ideas please post them

Re: MISS PROBLEM

changed plugs and made sure gap was set but didn't check compression not looking fwd to pulling plugs again....I did notice when i checked the fuel pressure just a min ago with key on ignition off it only gets to about 35psi and then drops quick! I didnt see any fuel in the pressure regulator vacuum line will do more testing tomarrow. If it was a fuel pump or pressure regulator problem wouldnt it affect the engine more at higher rpm rather that idling with no load?

ENGINE STALLING AT WARM START

The engine starts fine when cold without any problem. When the engine is warm and start, it will run fine for few seconds then it will stall as if starving of fuel for few seconds or minute then it will recover with its own and runs normally. Another problem occur recently, when the engine is hot and with A/C on, the car has hesitation and if you push the pedal to get more power, it will overheat the engine. Does anyone experience the same symptoms and solve, please share your solution.

could be bad regulator, or something is bleeding off fuel pressure

Re: MISS PROBLEM

no have to wait on the car (it's my girlfriends) but there's nothing else it could be unless there is a short in harness or valve train. when i get the car back ill figure out what the prob is fuel pump or regulator, see what happens and ill post back. i did notice that someone has cut a hole to access the fuel pump lol sucks but i aint going to complain if i have to change it haha

Re: MISS PROBLEM

yes i bypassed it but not with resistors is bypassed with the painless wiring module but i dont think thats the problem bc mine was idling good and all of a sudden began doing that also i don't know about u but sometimes when i put electrical load it stalls (if its stumbling and i turn the light on it dies) and its not the alt bc i tested it and also the battery

AND ITS ONLY ON PARK AND NEUTRAL weird

i have the same problem, assuming you guys are still talking about how it will idle fine, then drop 100 rpm's or so for just a tick, then go back to idling fine. (it was a long thread and i skimmed through it.) i was thinking it may be the IAC. i am going to check it out one of these coming days.

i have some ac delcos. well, i don't know if it did it before. i bought it from a kid this past september, he thought there was a head gasket out because she was blowin some smoke. so i took it in to school, fixed it up, (one head was warped almost to the point of needing to be replaced.) and as long as i have had it it has idled like that.

Re: MISS PROBLEM

Engine vaccum leaks can cause some werid problems like bad lean misfires and so does over advanced ignition timing.

Re: MISS PROBLEM

the timing is dead on 6 before and ive capped all vacuum ports except map, fuel, and egr but didn't help. also sprayed carb cleaner while capped and nothing. it does seem to backfire if i rev kinda high then let all the way off...would that be a lean backfire???

Re: MISS PROBLEM

FINALLY some progress!!!!!! I was messing around with all the cut up wires trying to piece this car back together and while looking at the o2 sensor wire i decided i didn't like the way it was routed so i unhooked it and pulled it around the engine.........the damn engine temp sensor and o2 sensor was laying on the exhaust and burnt through the insulation on both wires. All three was touching! so i made new wires and it runs alot better but still surging a little bit.
