Would you trade?
Would you trade?
Well i have a 1987 trans am with a 1500 mile 383 stroker, t56, 02 camaro ss rear end 3.42 posi, subframes, new paintjob but has orange peel and scratches, etc. It would take to long to add all the things that are done to the car, but it has alot of money into. The previous owner had done over 7k to the car, plus whatever he paid for the car. I traded him my old beat up diesel truck for it thinking i was going to get a good deal, but i had to lose alot over the car.
The transmission went and that alone took about $2k to swap the T56 6 speed manual into it. The carbuator was $600, intake was $160, distributor was $150, and ive spent around $300 on various other things for the car such as gaskets. My car still needs alot of tuning, but is drivable.
Now to why im considering trading.. Im about to leave the state to travel to school and need something better on fuel and to be honest im tired of my car. Its nice to have something like this, but i dont particuarly like thirdgen camaros and firebirds, i do however like secondgens. I would much rather have a foxbody mustang. Plus, i cant seem to get the right tune and make the car feel like the power it really has. Getting smoked by a stock mustang gt is not fun.
The trade... well the guy has a 1992 Jeep wrangler, with the i6 engine, 5 speed transmission, 4x4, seems like stock paintjob, didnt see any rust, has a huge winch on front bumper, nice mud tires with very clean bullet hole rims. And has 127,000 miles. I havent drove it or looked under it or under the hood yet. He message me about a trade and i turned it down a few days ago, then i was at work and saw a jeep park just a few feet from me and walked off. I thought it looked familiar and without a doubt in my mind, its the same jeep! I looked at it from about 5 feet as i walked past it and man it was clean , very clean as i remember. I would love to have it and im pretty sure i would trade, but need some second opinions.
A few questions.. how much could i sell my car for on average? Ive listed it for as low as $4500 and never even got a call, almost no one near where i live wants a car like mine. Hes the only one thats contacted me. How much could his be worth? Are they fun in the mud? Any major reliability issues with them? How can i test to see if 4wd works? Am I retarded for wanting to trade?!
Well thats it... sorry for so many questions, but im so confused about what i should do. Im going to put some pics on here so you can see what were dealing with... Ive been looking for a f250 with the 7.3 again for maybe a Subaru WRX, but can find anyone willing to trade, the carb turns them all away. I have to get rid of the car before i go, theres no way i can take this car that far, the fuel mileage would kill me, but would it be worth it? thanks!

Re: Would you trade?
Ive kinda been putting it off for trading, but im going to make a final decision tomorrow. Should i trade? The car has alot into it, and the powertrain is new, but until i take time to tune it and such, i have no power and i literally (no lie!) watch my gas guage fall when i floor it. When i floored it a few days ago, there was nothing but a huge black cloud behind me.

Re: Would you trade?
the fuel pump couldnt pump enough fuel to literaly watch your gas gauge move when floor it.. But I get the picture.
Timing is probly retarted to much, or way to much fuel... easy fix
