i need some help bad!!!! this is what i got and what i did, the motor is a 355 with 25.000 miles on it---vortec heads--vortec bace plate---slp runners---sbc hot cam 218/228 lift .525 .525 ---accel 24lb injectors--- bbk throttle body---bbk under drives---msd 6a---msd wires----custom ram air (cut box's ran 4' piping to fog lights)----edelbrock headers---- 3' exhaust dyno max --- 700r4 monster transmission 2500 stall---- IT HAS NEW EVERYTHING TPS SET @ 5.6 --FUEL PRESSURE SET @ 50 PSI---TIMING SET @ 10 DEGREES BACE---DRIVEABILTY SUCKS WOT IS BLAH CAR SMELLS LIKE RAW FUEL (RICH) 200 MILES ON PLUGS THEY LOOK LIKE NEW? ACCEL HEADDER PLUGS AND I STILL GET THIS CODE 36!!! FOR 4YRS!!! WILL NOT GO AWAY. SOMETIMES IT RUNS OK THEN OTHER TIMES ****! DEPENDS WHAT MOOD IT'S IN LOL CAP IS NEWER SO IS DISTRIBITOR ACTS LIKE IT'S NOT BURNING THE FUEL PLZ HELP!!!!! I CANT AFFORD TO TAKE IT TO THE DYNO SHOP AND SPEND A GRAND FOR SOMETHING I MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO MYSELF. BTW I LIVE IN SANDIEGO,CA ***also i dynoed the car 3yrs ago it only put out 290 @ the wheels

 

Why is your fuel pressure set at 50 psi?

 

might be the problem.......

 

HMMMMMM........... smells like raw fuel, 50 psi of fuel, sounds like fuel system might need to be fixed. however hows your timing advance?

 

even @ 50psi it looks like its lean , the plugs,look new not brown

 

could be your injectors are too small. You can't compensate for undersize injectors by running 26% too much fuel pressure.

 

you smell fuel right? you runnin the accels right? they seem to not gas foul as bad, might be fooing u......

the stock injector is 22lbs my new accels are 24lbs.

the car ran great when it was new then i popped the head gaskets fixed them then it never ran the same again lets put it this way when i had 1500 miles on it i raced a 2000 viper from a stop light getting on the freeway i put 3 cars on him n kept it till 150 then we quit thats how well it ran.

 

my timing is @ 10 base.

 

If it was my car, this is the point at which I'd pay for a custom dyno tune.

 

iI understand your base timing is 10. when your motor revs your timing changes,everything ,moving faster so is the firing point of the engine, search around and read about timing advance<timing curve> and you will understand....

 

btw you have a pretty car......
