Well I believe you'd need to find a way to make it a 4th gen. There were no 3rd gen SS's, so that car can never be a legit SS.

Re: just want some opinions
From '82 to '92, Chevy didn't build ANY Camaro SS. So whatever you do, it's not legit. SS was generally attached to models featuring at least a 327 engine, way back when, and meant that the car wasn't built with the regular V8. I guess the closest you could hope to get would be an RPO B4C-optioned Camaro. Sure, you can fake it, but that's what you'll be doing anyway.
Bottom line, build the car to suit you. It's your property, enjoy it.

Re: just want some opinions
My opinion is that there is no "point" at which you could call it an SS. Even if you had a 4th gen it would never be an SS. You could make an SS clone, but then you would have to do just the mods the SS comes with. I wouldnt worry about a badge. I personally think its dumb when someone has badges on their car for something its not. I have a 91 Z that I still consider a Z28 even though there is not one stock part in the entire drivetrain.

Re: just want some opinions
Don't false badge your car. You won't get the respect you are seeking in the thirdgen community because everyone knows there is no such thing as a thirdgen SS. No matter what you do it will never be considered an SS. You could put the Corvette engine in their and it still won't be an SS.
I think you should keep it as a sleeper. Keep it as an RS or even better don't put any badges on it. Make people ask you what it is. Then race 'em and they can find out after you win.
But on another note it is your car and you can do what you want.
Just in case you can't resist my advice there are SS badges out there. You have to do a search but others have made the badges for their cars.
