oil pressure and fuel gauge issues?? Sending unit?
Ok so my oil pressure gauge will read 30 psi at idle once it warms up but when you give it any gas it maxed out the guage. Sending unit???? Runs maxed out when cold also. Now my fuel gauge is stuck on full happened the other day when I filled it up. Never came down past full. Stays maxed it. Moved alittle but not much.. Any ideas?

Gage Rage
Oil Gage:
It might be the sender.
To find out disconnect the wire from the sender and connect a 47Ω resistor to the wire.
Connect the other end of the resistor to ground.
Put the key in the RUN position.
If the gage reads about half way the gage is good.
That would mean the problem is the sensor.
Fuel Gage:
Here’s how to test the fuel gage.
Remove the sender wire going to the gage.
Tape the bare end of the sender wire so and put it aside.
Use a potentiometer with a value of 90Ω or the closest you can find.
Connect one end the potentiometer to the gage from the location you removed the sender.
Connect the wiper of the potentiometer to ground.
Turn the key to RUN.
Slowly adjust the potentiometer from 0Ω to 90Ω.
If the gage is bad it will exhibit the problem you have.
If the gage is good it will display a smooth transition from one end of it’s range to the other.
Therefore the problem is with the sender or wiring going to it.
