cleaning heads?

I am wondering if it would be a bad idea to soak the heads in degreaser (such as that purple power) without disassembling the whole head? I.e. keeping the springs and rocker arms, etc. all installed and just rinsing it out real good and letting itall dry completely?

Re: cleaning heads?

If you're gonna do that, use gasoline, then run the gas in your lawnmower. The purple stuff leaves residue unless you rinse it 14 times.
