Vortec camshaft
Hey all quick question really. I am looking at upgrading my camshaft in my 71 sbc 350 with vortec heads. I was told the camshaft in it when i bought it was a edelbrock performer rpm however i dont see a performer rpm with low enough lift.. so i think he was lying lol who knows i guess. I know i will have to get a set of beehive springs to get to the mid .500 lift area. Just wondering what would be the best cam for my application.
What i can think of for specs right now is
Will be running the 8th mile only.
stock torque converter
stock vortec heads
edelbrock performer vortec intake
edelbrock 600cfm vac sec (going to holley 650dp soon)
short tube headers into straight pipes
Engine bottom end is all stock currently.
Have a stock 10bolt with a 3.42 gear - Mini spool installed
All i can think of for now. Im a noob when it comes to most of this type stuff so im learning as i go. Thanks for all the help.
