Please help I need some advice.
I have an 88 tbi 305 that has the 187 swirl port heads on it ans I'm looking for a feasable solution to my problem. The problem I've run into is that my engines got a burnt exhaust valve or seat on no4 cylinder. I did a comp test on the engine eariler this month and had pretty even 175-180 psi compression on 7 of the cyls but no 4 only had 30psi, originaly i though it was broke rings but I put air on the cyl and the air was escaping out the exhaust with both valves closed. Here's my delimia I have a set of 601's that I started porting for a 350 project. Would I do better with using these ported 601's with 1.94/1.50 valves or just remove the heads and do a 3 angle valve job on the 187's that're on the engine right now. I really need to get this thing fixed because it's blowing 1qt of oil out the exhaust each day and it's killing me. I have no problem with any of the head work because I do all of my machine work myself at a buddies shop.
Thanks...
