uncontrollable temp
Hello all,
I'm having an issue in trying to keep my '92 305/5 speed at a proper temp. When warm the temp is at 220, normal i suppose. I used to have a 195 therm in it but it would run a temp higher than 220 and when on the freeway it would get hotter. I've already changed the coolant temp sensor, mechanic says timing is fine, new water pump, new 185 therm and new coolant. I'm not sure if the maro has an air dam or not so if someone has a pic of one installed i'd appreciate it. I've only had the car for 4 months and am slowly getting it to run right. If possible i'd like to get it to stay below 210 so that my fan doesn't have to turn on . Itturns on at 221 and off at 214 degrees. Does the air dam make that much of a difference. I was just out city driving and the temp rose to about 230, its about in the high 80's and I hardly got on it.
Any ideas or comments on the air dam? Could it be bad catyltic converters or even a head gasket? When I compared the old and new coolant the old was a bit darker.
thank
