Ok I bought this car a year and a half ago and this has been bugging me ever since.

Every picture of every other 87 Iroc I have seen as had the alternator on the driver side of the car and the air compressor on the passenger side.

Mine is however backwards so Ive been confused. There appears to be no modification to the car though?

Any insight?

 

Swapped brackets, swapped motor, or maybe they just ran out of the current parts for that car at the factory. If you spend enough time looking, you'll notice that some of our cars came with the alt on the drv side, and some came with it on the pass side (your configuration).
